Allow me to Re-Introduce Myself.

It’s been a while since I have posted a blog post, but here is me attempting again to maintain a blog and take you on my publishing journey.

So, allow me to Re-introduce Myself

Hi, I’m Katie, welcome to my blog. I’m an indie author living on the coast of North Wales working towards publishing my debut dark paranormal romance novel – Shelter Me From Darkness, later this year.

I have been obsessed with fantasy ever since my mum read Lord of the Rings to me whilst we were on holiday when I was four years old. The obsession only grew from there.

I stopped reading for a little while when I was assessed as having dyslexia when I was seven and experiencing trouble of reading aloud in the classroom. I soon quickly fell back in love with reading again when I stumbled upon more fantasy books.

Growing up on shows like Xena: The Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and The New Adventures of Robin Hood my love for fantasy continued in every creative media. It wasn’t until my introduction to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Charmed that my love of fantasy went beyond the high epic fantasy stories and into Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance. From there I discovered authors Kelley Armstrong, Laurell K Hamilton, Kim Harrison, Charlene Harris, Mary Janice Davidson, Keri Arthur, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, Gena Showalter, and J.R Ward to name but some that introduced me to the genres I love today.

I have been writing since I was in school and loved the creative side of English classes despite my less-than-brilliant spelling, grammar, and punctuation. I wrote my first Urban Fantasy series at the age of 18 (that will never see the light of day 😊) and have continued honing my writing skills and creating fantasy worlds, along with writing fanfiction, but it wasn’t until 2021 where I started to really look into self-publishing and focus on pursuing my dream of being an Author.

My hope for this blog is to take you all with me on my self-publishing journey and grow as an Author until I am in the position of being a full-time Author.

I plan to talk about all different aspects of my journey as a new author, about my books and fantasy worlds I am creating, and the books I am reading and loving as well.
